Ludwig von Mellinger

Ludwig Mellinger , from 1905 Knight von Mellinger , (born December 11, 1849 in Rheinzabern , † July 20, 1929 in Passau ) was a German builder.

Life

Mellinger was a son of the notary Michael Mellinger in Rheinzabern and his wife Charlotte, b. Rebenack. After attending grammar school in Ansbach, he studied at the Polytechnic University of Munich . In 1868 he became active in the Corps Franconia Munich . In 1871/72 he did his service as a one-year volunteer in the Royal Bavarian 2nd Infantry Regiment "Crown Prince" in Munich. After passing his exams, he entered the Bavarian civil service, initially with assignments at the agricultural offices in Memmingen, Weilheim and Speyer. In 1886 he became the building and director's councilor in the Würzburg military building administration, in 1895 he became a secret building councilor in the war ministry , and in 1898 he became a secret senior building officer. In 1905 he was raised to the nobility and knight of the Order of Merit of the Bavarian Crown . His works include the new building of the Bavarian Army Museum in Munich, inaugurated in 1905 , the remains of which were converted into the new Bavarian State Chancellery in 1989/93 . He retired on February 1, 1919. He spent the last years of his life with his daughter in Passau, where he also died and was buried,
