Rainer Podeswa

Rainer Podeswa (born February 16, 1957 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German physicist and business economist as well as a politician of the Alternative for Germany (AfD). He has been a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg since March 2016 .

Life

Podeswa comes from a working class family. After graduating from high school in 1976 at the Bochum-Wattenscheid municipal high school, Podeswa began training for candidates for the higher service in the police force of North Rhine-Westphalia , which he broke off after less than a year. He then studied physics and business administration at the University of Cologne . In 1987 he was promoted to Dr. rer. nat. PhD.

He then worked for Siemens in Germany, France and Mexico for several years . From 1995 he was a board member for sales and research and development at Beru in Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg . As part of a savings program after the takeover of Berus by BorgWarner , he left the company at the end of 2007. Since then, he has worked in the management of several companies and has worked as a management consultant.

Podeswa has been married since 1984 and has two children. He lives in Ilsfeld .

politics

Podeswa is a member of the Alternative for Germany . He was in the state elections in Baden-Wuerttemberg in 2016 with 18.2 percent of votes in the constituency Heilbronn (Constituency 18) in the state parliament of Baden-Wuerttemberg selected. In September 2016, Podeswa was elected one of four deputy group leaders. He resigned from this position on January 9, 2019

Podeswa is a member of the Board of Trustees of the State Center for Political Education .

Positions

When he presented his candidates at the state party conference in 2015, Podeswa commented on his attitude towards gender mainstreaming as follows: “The gender ideology is the spiritual outflow of nuts with a communist ideal world image, which even Karl Marx would not have understood . "

At the end of 2017, at the AfD federal party congress, he supported a motion by MP Wolfgang Gedeon , who had come under fire for his anti-Semitic and anti-Zionist treatises , according to which the term “ secondary anti-Semitism ” was an “ideological battle term”, used to defame political opponents and intimidate the Serving the public and should therefore be rejected.
