Ludwig von Mycielski

Ludwig von Mycielski , Polish: Ludwik Mycielski, (born April 13, 1854 in Warsaw , † January 6, 1926 in Gostyna ) was the owner of the manor and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Mycielski was the son of Michael Mycielski, a journalist and editor who entered the Jesuit order after the early death of his wife. He grew up in his grandmother's house and with his uncle. In 1873 he graduated from high school in Śrem and then studied philology in Breslau , Leuven and Poznan , and in Poznan he received his doctorate in philosophy. After a trip to Rome he became the secretary of the papal nuncio Vladimir Czackiemu in Paris from 1879 to 1882. In 1882 he returned home and ran agriculture in Dabrowa and Galowo Szamotuly.

From 1884 to 1890 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Posen 4 Buk , Schmiegel , Kosten and the Polish parliamentary group . In 1913 he became President of the Polish National Council. During the First World War he was active in charitable organizations for the war victims. After the war he took part in actions for the referendum in Upper Silesia.

He was married with two children and is buried in the family grave in Gostyna.
