The Air Force 1 (Lfl. 1) was at the origin on April 1, 1934 as air circuit II in Berlin established air fleet of the Air Force of the Armed Forces . Other names were Luftkreis 2 (from October 12, 1937) and Luftwaffe Group Command 1 (from February 4, 1938). The large unit was given the name Luftflotte 1 on February 1, 1939. On April 16, 1945, Luftwaffenkommando 1 was reclassified to the Kurland Air Force Command .
