The Lufthansa SG Berlin was a German sports association of Lufthansa from Berlin , which existed from 1931 to 1945. Home site was the Monumentenstrasse sports facility in the Schöneberg district .

Football section

The sports community founded in 1931 operated under the name Lufthansa SV Berlin until 1935 . As early as the mid-1930s, the company team from Schöneberg played in the higher-class football of Berlin. In 1939 Lufthansa SG was promoted to the Gauliga Berlin-Brandenburg, which was initially divided into two . In the opening season, the LSG team finished in second place ahead of Elektra Berlin with the same number of points, and only narrowly failed in the finals of the Berlin championship behind Blau-Weiß 90 Berlin .

In the following period, the club established itself with predominantly front midfield positions. In the 1942/43 season in the now single-track Gauliga behind the Berliner SV 92 , participation in the German championship 1942/43 was again missed. From 1944 the LSG formed a war sports community with the BFC Viktoria 1889 , and played under the name KSG Lufthansa / Viktoria 89 Berlin until the end of the war . At the time the game was closed, KSG Lufthansa / Viktoria was in last place.

In 1945 the association was dissolved. There was no re-establishment. The team of the Gauligists joined the SG Staaken . In East Berlin later supported German Lufthansa (east) , the BSG Lufthansa Berlin .
