history

FC Treptow was founded in 1925 under the name of BEWAG Berlin's Werkverein , and has been the Bewag Berlin football team for many years since it was founded . The early years of Berlin were mainly characterized by sporting success, but they could never compete against established top clubs such as Blau-Weiß 90 Berlin or Hertha BSC . The club, renamed SV BEWAG Berlin in 1932 and SV Elektra Berlin in 1938, was promoted to the Gauliga Berlin-Brandenburg for the first time in 1936 together with SC Union Oberschöneweide . In the following seasons, the Werkverein belonged to what was then the highest German league, with mostly lower midfield positions. In the 1940/41 season Elektra Berlin rose together with the Berlin local rivals Tasmania Neukölln and Spandauer SV and then did not participate in the game until the end of the war.

In 1949 the former club was re-established as the company sports association (BSG) BEWAG and was renamed BSG Turbine BEWAG Berlin in 1950 , from 1974 BSG Turbine Berlin and from 1984 BSG Turbine EKB Treptow . The company sports community was never able to establish itself in the higher-class GDR football and commuted between the district class and the Berlin district league . Turbine was represented eleven times in the fourth and since 1963 third division league, the longest between 1959 and 1966.

After the turnaround in 1990, initially as SV Turbine Berlin , the club, renamed FC Treptow in 1994 (after merging with Lok Schöneweide ), continued to play under-class. After the football department of the former GDR league club NARVA Berlin transferred to FC Treptow in 1996 , FC Treptow took its place in the Berlin regional league from Narva Berlin , which was held until 2001. The current division is the district league A Berlin .
