Raue belonged to the Berlin tennis club Borussia as a striker , for whom he played point games in the Berlin championships held in two groups by the Brandenburg Ball Game Association .
His team occupied second place in Group A at the end of the 1926/27 season , so they won in the 1927/28 and 1928/29 seasons . However, the final of the Berlin championship was lost both times against Hertha BSC , the winner of Group A, 4: 8 and 4: 7 after two legs , which required a playoff in the last comparison. As second in the championship, he and his club were still entitled to participate in the finals for the German championship .
