Iwanowski belonged to the SC Minerva 93 Berlin as a defender , for whom he initially played from 1928 to 1933 in the Berlin championships organized by the Association of Brandenburg Ball Game Clubs . In the competition, which was held in two groups, he finished his first season in Group A with his club in fourth place. In the following season, his club reached third place in Group B , then second. An increase followed on the end of season 1931/32 as winners of Group A . With this success he took part in the final round of the VBB and finished second with one point behind the Berlin tennis club Borussia . With this success, his team was entitled to participate in the final round of the German championship . But already the opening event in Munich's Heinrich-Zisch-Stadion against FC Bayern Munich , the eventual German champions, was lost 2: 4 in the round of 16 ; at least his brother Erich - as a goal scorer to equalize 2-2 in the 55th minute - kept the encounter open for a while. With third place in Group B at the end of the 1932/33 season, his team was qualified for the Gauliga Berlin-Brandenburg as one of initially 16, later increased to 23 Gauligen at the time of National Socialism as a uniform top division in the German Reich . After two seasons in sixth place, he finished his last season in second place tied behind the Berliner SV 1892 , whose better goal rate decided the Gaume Championship. In the competition for the Tschammerpokal , which was first introduced in 1935 , it was only used on September 22nd in a 4-2 second round victory over SC Vorwärts Breslau .
