The Berlin Football Championship 1929-30 was the nineteenth under the Brandenburg football championship discharged (VBB) Berlin Football Championship . The championship was held this season in two groups with ten teams in a round-robin tournament with a round trip. The two group winners then played in the final of the Berlin soccer championship. In the end, Hertha BSC was able to win the final again against the Berlin tennis club Borussia and became Berlin soccer champions for the ninth time. With this victory, the club qualified for the German soccer championship 1929/30 , in which the Herthaners reached the final for the fifth time in a row after victories over the Beuthener SuSV 09 , the SpVgg Sülz 07 and the 1. FC Nürnberg . After four defeats in the final in recent years, Hertha BSC became German football champions for the first time with a 5-4 win over Holstein Kiel . It was also the first championship title for a club from the Association of Brandenburg Ball Game Clubs . The Berliner Tennis Club Borussia was qualified as a Berlin runner-up, as in previous years, also for the German football championship, but resigned after only a 1: 4 defeat against SpVgg Fürth in the second round.
