The Neuköllner SC Südstern Azur was a German football club from Berlin , which existed from 1908 to 1997.

society

The NSC Südstern-Azur was founded in 1908 under the name Rixdorfer FC Südstern , but appeared as Neuköllner FC Südstern from 1912 . Südstern initially played in the championship of the Märkischer Fußball-Bund . After switching to the championship round of the Association of Brandenburg Ball Game Clubs , the NFC operated quite successfully for six seasons in the Oberliga Berlin until 1933 . In the Berlin Cup , Südstern reached the quarter-finals twice, but failed each time at Post Berlin and Union Oberschöneweide .

The qualification for the Gauliga Berlin-Brandenburg , which was introduced in 1933, was clearly missed by the Berliners with eighth place, and by the end of the Second World War they were no longer able to achieve promotion to the Gauliga. In 1933, the NFC Südstern briefly merged with the Berliner Sport-Club to form the Berliner SC Südstern 08 . After the merger solution in 1935, the club always played lower class until the end of the war.

Südstern's most successful period in sport began in the mid-1950s, when he was promoted to the Berlin amateur league . In the amateur league Südstern played a total of six seasons until 1962, then rose again with the Spandauer BC . In the period that followed, Neuköllner SC Südstern disappeared in the lowlands of West Berlin local football.

In 1993, Südstern merged again with SC Azur 1951 Berlin and played as Neuköllner SC Südstern-Azur .

In 1997, the district league team withdrew from the game. Most of the team joined local rivals Neuköllner FC Rot-Weiß .
