The Berlin Football Championship 1928/29 was the eighteenth under the Brandenburg football championship discharged (VBB) Berlin Football Championship . The championship was held this season in two groups with ten teams in a round-robin tournament with a round trip. The two group winners then played in the final of the Berlin soccer championship. In the end, Hertha BSC was able to win the final again against the Berlin tennis club Borussia and became Berlin soccer champions for the eighth time. With this victory, the club qualified for the German soccer championship 1928/29 , in which the Herthaners reached the final for the fourth time in a row after victories over SC Preußen Zaborze , FC Schalke 04 and 1. FC Nürnberg . Due to the 2: 3 defeat in the final against SpVgg Fürth , Herthan lost the final for the fourth time in a row. The Berlin tennis club Borussia was also qualified as Berlin runner-up for the German soccer championship and reached the quarter-finals as in the previous year. After the Berlin team beat FC Titania Stettin 3-2 after extra time in the round of 16 , 1. FC Nürnberg was too strong in the quarter-finals and the Berlin team lost 3-1.
