Lok Schöneweide was founded in 1925 under the name Reichsbahn SV Berlin . The club did not play in the higher class until 1945, and any participation in the Gauliga Berlin-Brandenburg did not take place. Nationwide, the Reichsbahner only appeared in the Tschammer Cup in 1935 , in which they failed prematurely at Eintracht Braunschweig .

In 1945 the RSV was dissolved and re-established in 1951 as BSG Lok Schöneweide . The depot Berlin-Schöneweide acted as the carrier company . On the sporting level, the BSG acted in the third or fourth-class district league Berlin , which was never held permanently. The locomotive was much more successful in the East Berlin Cup, in which Schöneweide reached the final twice. In the FDGB-Pokal the Berliners reached the first main round in 1956 and were clearly defeated by the clearly favored BSG unit Wismar with 1: 5.

In 1990 the association was renamed ESV Lok Schöneweide . The game operation was initially maintained until 1994. Subsequently, the association was no longer able to raise the annual rent required by the Bahn AG for the site. The football department then merged with SV Turbine Berlin to form FC Treptow . The ESV currently has its own team in the Berlin game operations.

Herbert Dill , Karl Köppen and Paul Sievert were among the best German walkers of the decade. In total, the walkers of the RSV Berlin won four German championship titles and three runner-up championships.
