The Luftwerftgraben is an approx. 1.3 kilometer long ditch in Hamburg-Fuhlsbüttel , which is owned by Hamburg Airport . It is surrounded on both sides by barbed wire and serves to drain the airport site.
course
It starts between the Lufthansa Technik base. Satellite images give an idea that it is a covered water basin, as a water basin it is also shown on OpenStreetMap .
It runs almost completely open in a south-westerly direction, after about 100 meters straight for about 350 meters, then crosses under a path and past a retention basin . It then runs in a straight line for a further 700 meters along an allotment garden area until it flows underground into the Tarpenbek , immediately before it comes to the surface again after passing under the airport.
