Luigi Antinori
Luigi Antinori (* around 1697 in Bologna ; † before March 6, 1734 in Florence ) was an Italian opera singer (tenor).
He was one of the best tenors of his time. His voice was clear and penetrating and he had excellent technique.
Antinori came to London in 1725, where he a. a. sang in the pasticcio L'Elpidia, ovvero Li rivali generosi (music mostly by Leonardo Vinci ) compiled by Georg Friedrich Handel for the Royal Academy of Music . Francesco Borosini had previously sung this role .
In the following opera season he sang Lelio in Handel's Publio Cornelio Scipione and Leonato in Alessandro . Until 1734 he performed in Venice, Livorno, Reggio Emilia, Genoa and Florence. On March 6, 1734, the impresario of the Teatro della Pergola in Florence, Luca Casimiro degli Albizzi , reported in a letter of his death.
