Luis Fazio , full name Luis Manuel Fazio , (born April 23, 1911 in Gerli , Buenos Aires , † unknown) was an Argentine football player .

Career

Defensive player Fazio, sometimes also under the name Luis María Fazio and born February 15, 1918 , belonged to CA Independiente from Avellaneda from 1931 to 1937 . In 1935 he was runner- up with the team under coach Máximo Garay . He played in 32 of the 34 games and was next to Juan Carlos Corazzo the player with the most appearances in that season. From 1938 to 1940 he played for the Uruguayan club Nacional Montevideo . With the "Bolsos" he won the Uruguayan championship in the 1939 season . In the championship final against Club Atlético Peñarol , which was only played on April 28 the following year, he was on the starting line-up of the team supervised by Héctor Castro . In the same year he moved back to his home in Argentina and was again active in the Primera División with CA Independiente until 1941 . During his entire time at CA Independiente he completed between his debut on July 5, 1931 against Club Atlético Atlanta and his last appearance on October 26, 1941 against Racing 193 games and scored two goals.

National team

Fazio was a member of the senior national team of Argentina . With the Albiceleste he took part in the 1937 South American Championship , in which Argentina won the title. Fazio played in three tournament encounters - including the final. He didn't score a goal.
