Luis García Fernández (born February 6, 1981 in Oviedo ) is a Spanish football player . The striker has been under contract with the Belgian first division club KAS Eupen since July 2014 .

Career

society

Luis García Fernández began his career in Real Madrid's youth. With the capital city, he made it to the second team Real Madrid Castilla . In the summer of 2003 he moved to Real Murcia , but could not prevent his team from relegating to the Segunda División despite good performances . He was then signed by RCD Mallorca , where he scored 11 goals. Luis García has been with Espanyol Barcelona since summer 2005, with whom he won the 2006 Copa del Rey and reached the 2006/07 UEFA Cup final .

In August 2011, on the last day of the transfer window, league rivals Real Saragossa announced the signing of Luis García. Luis García spent the 2012/13 season on loan with the UANL Tigres . The Spaniard has been under contract with the Belgian first division club KAS Eupen since July 2014, where he holds the position of captain. On March 15, he announced that he would be leaving KAS Eupen due to his wish to become a coach and that he would be the captain and wear the KAS Eupen jersey for the last time on April 20, 2019. In the game he was then substituted in the 94th minute against Mégan Laurent and got his farewell.

National team

He made his debut for the Spanish national team on June 2, 2007 against Latvia . However, he has not been appointed since 2008.

As a trainer

In his last season at KAS Eupen, he also coached the U21s, where he reached the cup final there, but lost 4-1 to KRC Genk .
