Luis Antonio Marín Barahona (born May 18, 1983 in Santiago de Chile ) is a Chilean football goalkeeper.

Career

society

After Luis Marín was rejected by the Santiago Wanderers and Colo-Colo in 2002 , his professional career began at Audax Italiano . But there he did not appear in a league in three years. For this reason, he moved to league newcomer Lota Schwager in 2007 . There he manages to fight for the space between the posts. After the club was determined to be relegated at the end of the season, Marín decided to move again. In 2008 he signed a contract with Unión Española . Here, too, he immediately earned the status of number one. In 2009 he was able to take first place with the team in the Apertura and thus qualified for the championship round. There the team only lost 1: 2 in the final against CF Universidad de Chile .

National team

After the goalkeeper did not play a single game for the Chilean national team in the South American qualification and only made his international debut in May in a friendly against Trinidad and Tobago in Iquique, he was surprisingly won by national coach Marcelo Bielsa as the third goalkeeper for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa nominated . In South Africa, the team made it to the round of 16 and was eliminated from Brazil . Marín was number three behind Claudio Bravo and Miguel Pinto during the entire tournament.
