Luise Kött-Gärtner (* 1953 in Zülpich ) is a plastic artist.

Life

Kött-Gärtner studied plastic with Benno Werth and Elmar Hillebrand in Aachen . Together with an art publisher, she began to produce inexpensive bronze sculptures in the 1980s . The works were made in accordance with traditional craftsmanship and relocated at an affordable price. In the beginning, objects with a strong commercial character were created. From the beginning, the human being was the focus of the artistic work. Abstraction and reduction became clear in the language of forms over the years. The intensive life with the family shaped and continuously changed the work.

After initially wood-sculpting work had been in the foreground of her work, Kött-Gärtner later resorted more and more to wax , clay and metal as preferred model materials. When using wax as a material, the model reaches the limits of casting technology. The complicated and filigree sculptures could only be made using the elaborate lost wax process and centrifugal casting . Kött-Gärtner left the studio and took an active part in business meetings with the Vienna Future Office. The external activity resulted in an expansion of the work spectrum. She designed a labyrinth in public space in Heimbach .
