Luiza Andaluz

Luiza Andaluz (born February 12, 1877 in Marvila , † August 20, 1973 in Lisbon ) was a Portuguese Catholic nun .

Career

Luiza Andaluz, with full name Luisa Maria Langstroth Figuera De Sousa Vadre Santa Marta Mesquita e Melo , founded the Congregação das Servas de Nossa Senhora de Fátima in 1915 . At the time of her death, there were 30 communities in Portugal and Mozambique.

In the course of the beatification process opened for her, Pope Francis awarded her the heroic degree of virtue on December 18, 2017 .
