Luki Frieden (2019)

Luki Frieden (born February 28, 1973 in Bern ) is a Swiss director and screenwriter for cinema, TV and advertising films.

Life

Frieden graduated from the teachers' seminar in Thun from 1989 to 1994 and then studied at the New York Film Academy. Since 1999 he has been working as a freelance screenwriter and director. In 2003 his first feature film "November" was released. The film is about winning the lottery, which slowly breaks up the ideal world of a middle-class family and ends in a drama. A year later he founded the Nordland design agency together with Peter Gärtl, whose work has received international awards. Peace's second feature film "A Thousand Oceans" premiered in 2008 at the competition at the 4th Zurich Film Festival. The main roles were played by Max Riemelt , Joel Basman and Maximilian Simonischek . The drama about life and death was largely received positively by the critics and shown at international festivals. In 2014, Frieden directed the TV drama “Our Child” for Swiss television. The film is about a couple who are diagnosed with a “disabled child” during pregnancy.

Frieden has also made numerous advertising films for large companies in which he worked with personalities such as Roger Federer , Lindsey Vonn , Aksel Svindal and Bode Miller .

He is a member of the Swiss Film Academy and lives in Thun.

social commitment

In 2015, Frieden founded the Härzebluet association for üse FC Thun, of which he is still president today. The club collects donations for FC Thun and has been able to donate almost a million Swiss francs to the football club over the past four years.

Peace also shot awareness campaigns about “poverty”, “loneliness in old age” and “suicidality”.
