Lulekani is a suburb and former township of the city of Phalaborwa in Limpopo Province in northeastern South Africa , 14 kilometers from the Kruger National Park .
The region is one of the poorest in South Africa. Many of the 14,464 residents (as of 2011) of Lulekani are dependent on the workload in the surrounding mines and farms. Most of the residents speak Xitsonga .
