The Lunar Crag is a 1200 m high nunatak in the east of the West Antarctic Alexander I Island . In Planet Heights, it rises at the head of the Pluto Glacier .
Aerial photographs of the American Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947-1948) were used by the British geographer Derek Searle from the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey in 1960 for mapping. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1977 based on the naming of numerous geographical objects in the area after planets and their moons.
