María Guadalupe Jones Garay (born September 6, 1967 in Mexicali , Mexico ) was the first Mexican woman to be elected as Miss Universe in 1991.

In September 1990 she won the title "Señorita Mexico" (Miss Mexico) as the representative of the Mexican state of Baja California . The following year, on May 17, 1991, she won the “Miss Universe” beauty pageant in Las Vegas against 72 other women.

In 1994 she founded a company called Promocertamen and created the “Nuestra Belleza Mexico” beauty pageant as the official Mexican national beauty pageant.

Jones graduated from business administration, graduated from Mexicali and became a successful business woman.
