Lustprinzip is the second album by the electro punk band Egotronic . It was released on October 26, 2007 via Audiolith Records .

History of origin

Torsun's book Raven Because of Germany is about the genesis of the album. According to the book, Egotronic was at a crossroads after their first album The Right Setting , released in 2006 through Audiolith Records. There was no permanent cast, Torsun lived in a shared flat and tried to deal with a difficult separation. Raven against Germany developed into a club hit, especially in the context of the anti-German movement , which was already claimed at the few concerts in 2006. Otherwise, Torsun concentrated on participating in various raves and excessive drug use. Rather half-heartedly, he began to work on several songs, but did not find the right beginning. Finally, he turned to the Darmstadt musician and producer Johnny Weltraum, with whom he had already worked in the 1990s. The first songs for the album were written within a few days. After a short break, the rest of the songs were finished within another week. This was followed by a few more texts. The vocals were sung in Plemo's studio in Hamburg.

Song info

Raven gegen Deutschland was created after a dance demo in the Berlin district of Friedrichshain. There were some racist and left-wing attacks there in 2006. Together with the organizers, Torsun tried to set an example. Techno was on at the demo and there were protest posters with the slogans BTM instead of BDM and Germany must die so we can rave. Torsun then shortened the latter to Raven against Germany . He wrote a text for this and made the instrumental side from the rhythm of a techno track that was popular in 2006 and the bass line of another track. He added melodies and breaks and created his own song.

Lustprinzip was originally intended as a remix for a rapper known to Torsun who wanted a song to be spiced up. He chose the beat of a song by the electro musician Plemo as the basis . When he had finished the instrumental, Torsun decided to keep the song to himself and wrote a text about the party mood. He first published the song as an MP3 version, but had it again adapted for the album by Johnny Weltraum. A video was shot that shows a wild drug party and became a small hit on YouTube . The video was shot in the apartment of KT&F, a new member of Egotronic. Directed by Egotronics Booker Artur and an artist named Johannes. Before shooting began, ecstasy was passed around, then all the protagonists lounged on a large bed and were constantly showered with powdered sugar , which was supposed to represent cocaine . The protagonists carried carrier bags converted into T-shirts.

In love came about on the first weekend of the collaboration between Torsun and Johnny Weltraum. Torsun had already completed the basic framework. The song was about a woman named Marie who Torsun met in the summer of 2007. The text only consists of the line “ I don't know you, you don't know me, and yet I'm in love with you ”.

My sunglasses are about having sunglasses with you at raves. This serves the purpose of hiding the eyes from other people after several nights through.

Hip, cool, sexy is about a former acquaintance of Torsun who cheated on his friends for money and was otherwise a "loudmouth".

Not only Raver emerged under the impression of the riots in Mügeln in 2007 . The riots in Rostock-Lichtenhagen in 1992 are also mentioned . Similar to Raven against Germany , an anti-German attitude can be seen here. The consequence of the two pogrom-like attacks is in the song “Germany should burn”.
