Lustration is an Australian black and thrash metal band from Brisbane that was formed in 2008.

history

The band was founded in early 2008 by singer Paul "Minesweeper" Williams and drummer Glenn "Camazotz" Miller. In May 2009 a first demo was recorded in the MKH Studios under the name Goetik Invokator . In 2012, the debut album Psymbolik , which as a bonus also contains the demo material, followed on the German label Supremacy Through Intolerance Records . Then the guitarist Joel K. aka J. Godkiller, the bassist Daniel "Necrobogan" and the drummer left the line-up. As a result, the band became inactive the following year. Meanwhile, Supremacy Through Intolerance Records released the 2009 demo as a split release with the Brisbane group Vilifier , in which Necrobogan was also active. After bassist Adam "Adz Misfit" John and drummer Scott "Christurbator" Muir had joined the band as new members and Necrobogan, now guitarist, returned to the band, they resumed their activities. From August 2013, she started playing national concerts. The second album followed in December 2015 under the name Jesus Bethlemitus Maledictus on the French label Forgotten Wisdom Productions .

style

According to Brian Giffin in his Encyclopedia of Australian Heavy Metal , the band plays a mix of black and thrash metal. thethrashmetalguide.com described Goetic Invokator as a brutal and gruff mixture of black, thrash and death metal , reminiscent of the US group Acheron , but the material from Lustration is faster. Psymbolik was produced even rougher and offers a balanced mixture of Black and Thrash Metal and reminds of the early Celtic Frost in the slower passages . The songs had a macabre atmosphere and would occasionally evoke memories of Khold and early Barathrum . Jesus Bethlemitus Maledictus was also a mix of Thrash and Black Metal for xFiruath from metalunderground.com . The album deals with occultism and stories from Atlantis .
