Anny Mayer-Knoop (born February 25, 1889 in Ludwigslust , Mecklenburg , † after 1969) was a German writer.

Life

Anny Mayer-Knoop was a trained nurse. She began her literary work with memories of her time as a nurse in World War I since 1915. From 1926 to 1946 she worked in Breslau , in the Glatzer Land and in the Owl Mountains . Later she lived as a teacher's wife in Rudolfswaldau (Sierpnica; today to Głuszyca ), where she was considered the "Lord Godspoetin from the Owl Mountains" who "tried to shape the long-forgotten area of the owl in songs and stories". In 1936 she published in Albendorf a consecration-festival of the albums Dorfer Wallfahrtsbasilika. In a survey carried out from 1955 by the “Kulturwerk Schlesien e. V. ”named her as a profession as a writer on the subjects of“ religion - homeland - humor ”,“ also amateur play ”. She was apparently unable to publish an announced novel Die Dreikönigsmühle because of the Nazi cultural policy. In 1951 the band Käuze from the Owl Mountains was published by Lax Verlag in Hildesheim . She spent her twilight years in a retirement home in Brand , then in the Aachen district .

She wrote the text for the Silesian song "It is in the east of Germany, well known to the heart".
