Luther Church (Barop)
The Luther Church is a Protestant church in the Barop district of Dortmund .
history
The church building was erected from 1911 to 1913 after the original Baroper church, the Margaret Chapel, had become too small for the rapidly growing community . On April 27, 1913, the church was inaugurated with a service in the presence of General Superintendent Wilhelm Zoellner .
Building
The Hagen architect Gustav Mucke designed the new building in the style of historicism . The church building has a sandstone facade and its design is based on the Eisenach regulation proclaimed in 1861 . A massive cast steel bell from 1913 hangs in the tower , tuned to the tone sequence c'-es'-ges'. The church stands as a monument under monument protection and is in the list of monuments of the city of Dortmund entered.
