Luther Church in Pöhla

The Luther Church in the Schwarzenberg district of Pöhla is one of the youngest church buildings in the Erzgebirge district .

architecture

The small hall church with attached rectory was planned by the Chemnitz architects Kornfeld und Benirschke and built in 1933 by Karl Adler from Schwarzenberg in a functional style. The tower with a high pyramid roof is set slightly in the eastern south side and connects the church and rectory.

inner space

The interior is also very functional. The colors are based on the Bauhaus style . The middle part of the ceiling is left wood. The chancel is defined in the north by a three-part stained glass window, which shows the risen Christ and two angels and was made by the Dresden glazier K. Eberhard. The organ gallery with the organ by the Rochlitz master organ builder Schmeisser is located above the southern entrance. The altar and baptism are made of Hilbersdorf porphyry tuff . The originally wooden pulpit was replaced in the early 1950s by a polygonal porphyry pulpit, at the foot of which the personifications of faith, love and hope by a Pöhla artist are incorporated.
