Lutz Lachenmayer

Lutz Lachenmayer (* 1941 in Göppingen ; † March 10, 2008 ) was a German doctor . He was considered a leading expert on Parkinson's disease .

Life

Lachenmayer studied medicine at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and the University of Hamburg . In 1969 he was approved . He initially worked at the Anatomical Institute at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf and from 1972 to 1990 at the neurology department there. In 1980 he qualified as a professor with a thesis on the anatomy and physiology of the central serotonin system . In 1990 he received a reputation as a professor at the University of Hamburg and was also chief physician of the Neurology of the current Asklepios Kliniken Hamburg -Barmbek. In 2006 he retired .

Lachenmayer died of a heart attack. He left behind his wife and two sons.

Act

He dealt in particular with extrapyramidal motor syndromes, especially Parkinson's disease , also "Parkinson's disease" (paralysis), as well as myasthenia gravis pseudoparalytica . He was involved in research projects such as telemetric video diagnostics of gait and movement images in patients with Parkinson's.

Among other things, he was editor for neurology in the editorial team of the Asklepios medical journal "medtropole".
