Lutz Sinke

Lutz Sinke (born March 8, 1950 ) is a former German handball player who was mainly active for BSG Motor Eisenach in the handball league of the German handball association.

Athletic career

Lutz Sinke moved from Optima Erfurt to BSG Motor Eisenach in 1968 as a youth player. He remained loyal to the company sports community until the 1985/86 season, during which time he threw over 2,000 goals for Motor Eisenach. During this time he was considered one of the best backcourt players in the GDR. After his withdrawal from the first team, Sinke played for some time in the second team of BSG Motor. From 1993 he got involved with TSG Ruhla , for which he was still in the district class when he was over 40 years old.

Private

Sinke had a close friendship with his team-mate Rainer Osmann during his playing days . In addition to his work at BSG Motor Eisenach, Sinke was employed at the Eisenach automobile plant , where he was named “Sportsman of the Year” and “Meritorious Employee”.
