Lutz Wagner

Lutz Wagner (born May 27, 1963 ) is a former German football referee . He is a member of the Amateurs referee committee of the German Football Association .

Athletic career

Wagner had been DFB referee for SV 07 Kriftel since 1991, whistled games in the Second Bundesliga since 1992 and games in the First Bundesliga since 1994 . With 197 Bundesliga games and more than 100 second division appearances, Wagner is still one of the Bundesliga referees with the most appearances. In 2004 he whistled in the Korean K League . In 2006 he headed the championship finals there.

In addition to his work as a DFB referee, he was also an association instructor of the Hessian Football Association and thus responsible for the further training of the Hessian referees. In July 2010 he handed over this position to the former DFB referee Ralf Viktora.

At the end of the 2009/10 season, Lutz Wagner ended his career as a Bundesliga referee after reaching the age limit. He has been a referee observer up to and including the Bundesliga since the 2010/2011 season . From May 2010 to March 2013 he was the coordinator for rule interpretation and basic work in the referee committee of the German Football Association. Among other things, he worked out the interpretation of the rules with the German elite referees from the first to the third division. Since March 2013 he has been responsible for grassroots work in the state and regional associations and a member of the DFB referee commission. His tasks also include promoting young talent in German refereeing. At the DFB Bundestag in October 2013, a restructuring of the refereeing system was decided. Lutz Wagner took over the post of instructor in the Amateurs Referee Commission, which is responsible for the women's national leagues, the junior national leagues and the corresponding cup competitions including DFB country cup tournaments. Its task is, in cooperation with the elite, to communicate the rule changes and the rule interpretation to the teaching supervisors in the state associations. He is also responsible for promoting talent, including the courses in Duisburg.

Speaker activity

In 1992, Lutz Wagner began to use his experience as a speaker. Since 2006 he has also given his lectures to companies and other non-sport-related associations and associations. In 2007 he was elected "Speaker of the year" by the PMI Chapter in Berlin and Brandenburg.

Wagner is married to his wife Petra and has a daughter.
