Luzia Premoli

Luzia Premoli MCCJ (born March 23, 1955 in Linhares , Espírito Santo , Brazil ) is a Roman Catholic nun and since 2010 Superior General of the Comboni Missionary Sisters.

Life

Luzia Premoli joined the order of the Comboni Missionary Sisters and took temporary vows in 1983. After studying psychology , she worked in Mozambique for an educational program for women from 1989 to 1997 . She was also involved in academic training at the interdiocesan seminary and in training teachers. In 1997, Luzia Premoli worked for the novice training of her order in Brazil and completed a degree in psycho-pedagogy . In 2005 she was elected Provincial Superior of the Comboni Missionary Sisters in the Order of Brazil.

The XIX. The General Chapter of the Order elected Luzia Premoli on September 20, 2010 in Verona as the 12th Superior General of the Congregation of the Comboni Missionary Sisters founded in 1872. The term of office is six years. She is the first non-Italian woman to hold this office.
