Lycoderes is a genus of humpback chirps from the subfamily of the Stegaspidinae . Currently 18 species from the Neotropic are knownfrom this genus. The genus was divided into the two sub-genera Lycoderes and Lycoderides in 1972, both of which are now considered separate, closely related genera. They differ mainly in the veining of the forewings.

The types of Lycoderes are known from the following countries: Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica and Ecuador.

The Lycoderes chirps are approx. 5 to 9 mm long and have a very different pronotum, often leaf-shaped, often with apical, lateral or backward-directed growths, which can also be very conspicuous. Often there is a strong sexual dimorphism, which makes the identification of the species even more difficult. The color is mostly brown. The head is covered with fine hair, the pronotum is sculpted and dotted.

Almost nothing is known about the biology, the larvae have not yet been described, the adult chirps occur individually and suck plant sap on plants of at least four different families.
