The Lydia-Eymann-Scholarship of the Lydia-Eymann-Foundation has been awarded since 1996 and is named after the Langenthal writer, women's rights activist and environmental activist Lydia Eymann .

The foundation, established after the death of Lydia Eymann on March 1, 1972, reoriented itself in the early 1990s after a library project could no longer be carried out. The library rooms have been converted into a “spacious studio” which is made available to cultural workers free of charge as part of the grant.

The selected writers receive a twelve-month residency grant of CHF 3000 per month. During the period of the scholarship, the scholarship holders live in the Lydia-Eymann-Haus in Langenthal , Switzerland. Residence is compulsory. The Board of Trustees decides on the submitted work samples.
