Michael Stauffer , also Dichterstauffer , (born July 20, 1972 in Winterthur ) is a Swiss writer .

Life

Michael Stauffer grew up in Frauenfeld , where he attended high school until he graduated from high school. Then studied it German , French and Visual Arts at the University of Bern and the University of Lausanne . He finished his studies with a teaching degree and then worked as a teacher at a vocational school . He has been a freelance writer since 1999 . Today he lives and works in Biel and in Europe.

Stauffer is the author of short stories , plays , radio plays , poetry and spoken word - performances . In his prose works he uses an idiosyncratic technique in which ironic descriptions of everyday life are mixed with surrealistic elements.

Stauffer has been a member of the Association of Authors in Switzerland since 2003 . He teaches at the Swiss Literature Institute at the Bern University of the Arts .
