Christian Waldvogel (born June 16, 1971 in Austin , Texas ) is a Swiss artist and architect .
Life
Christian Waldvogel grew up near Zurich and attended high school in Bülach . Then studied it architecture at the ETH Zurich and at the Rhode Iceland School of Design and completed this study in 1999 with the diploma as an architect. Since then he has worked as an artist , programmer and architect and now lives in Zurich.
Christian Waldvogel works in the field of concept , net and process art . He deals with the earth as a planet in the universe, with fictional worlds and the relation of humans to these topics.
Artistic ideas
His most important project to date, Globus Cassus , is a utopian (and impossible) proposal for the transformation of the earth into a huge hollow body on the inside of which people would live. Globus Cassus was presented to the international public for the first time at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2004 and is still the subject of intense discourse today.
