Radio Basel Foundation
The Radio Basel Foundation is a Swiss foundation that aims to promote the cultural life of radio programs. It was founded in 1937 by what was then the Basel Radio Cooperative (today “ SRG Region Basel”).
From 1987 to 2006, the foundation awarded a radio play prize endowed with CHF 10,000 and CHF 5,000 respectively, and since 2007 it has awarded a feature prize endowed with CHF 10,000, 5000 and 2500 .
Radio play award
The award went to productions produced in German-speaking Switzerland and broadcast by Swiss Radio DRS in written language or dialect or Swiss authors or German-speaking authors from neighboring countries. In the twenty-year history of the Radio Basel Foundation's radio play prize, the prize has been awarded annually - with the exception of 1995, 2002 and 2005 - a total of seventeen times.
