Andreas Sauter

Andreas Sauter (born August 19, 1974 in Zurich ) is a Swiss playwright and director.

Andreas Sauter studied scenic writing at the Berlin University of the Arts , with David Spencer and Oliver Bukowski , among others , and works as an author and director for theater, radio drama and film. Since 1998 there has been a co-authorship with Bernhard Studlar .

Together with Katharina Schlender and Rolf Kemnitzer , Andreas Sauter founded the initiative “We care means you care - 10 wishes for a future author's theater” initiative in 2007, which triggers a broad discussion about the role of the author in theater throughout the German-speaking region.

In addition to writing and staging, Andreas Sauter leads writing workshops and piece developments. Among other things at the Deutsches Theater Berlin , at the Westfälische Kammerspiele Paderborn, at the Consol Theater Gelsenkirchen, and on the course "Scenic Writing" at the UdK Berlin .

Since summer 2015 Andreas Sauter has been co-director of the “Drama Processor” at the Theater an der Winkelwiese in Zurich .
