Robert Ralston

Robert Ralston (born November 6, 1938 in Manila , resident in Chur and Meilen ) is a Swiss sculptor , painter , draftsman and stage designer .

life and work

Robert Ralston lived in Chur from 1945 and studied at the Zurich School of Applied Arts with the sculptor and painter Ernst Gubler (1885–1958) and the graphic artist and painter Heinrich Müller (1903–1978). Ralston then completed an apprenticeship as a renovation sculptor in Zurich from 1958 to 1962 under Willi Stadler (1903–1988). He was also a private student of Max Zimmermann and studied at the art academies in Berlin and Munich .

Ralston has been working as a freelance sculptor and painter in Spain since 1962 and in southern France and Chur from 1991 . He exhibits his works at numerous group and solo exhibitions in Europe. Ralston received a studio grant from the Grisons Cultural Promotion in 2005 and 2006 .
