Poetry Debut Prize
The Poetry Debut Prize is a literary prize awarded for the first time in 1999 for first-time poetry . The prize, endowed with 5000 euros, is awarded every two years by the Literary Colloquium Berlin .
Structures
The prize money and the organizational costs are sponsored by the Deutsche Bank Cultural Foundation and the Kester Haeussler Foundation . Since 2005 there has been a cooperation with the Kunst: Raum Sylt-Quelle , so that Rantum on Sylt was chosen as the location for the award ceremony. The event is linked to a public event, usually a colloquium on contemporary poetry.
Self-applications are not possible. There is exactly one juror in each case, someone who enjoys a reputation in the German-speaking poetry scene.
