The Mámoa do Batateiro is an Anta not far from the Rio de Aveleiro in the Parque Nacional da Peneda-Gerês (PNPG) in Lamas de Mouro near Melgaço in the Viana do Castelo district in northern Portugal . Mámoa or Anta is the Portuguese name for around 5000 megalithic structures or dolmens , which were built during the Neolithic in the west of the Iberian Peninsula by the successors of the cardial or imprint culture .

The Mamoa do Batateiro is a well-preserved dolmen in a mound in the forests of the Serra da Penada. The chamber consists of seven supporting stones and the flat oval cap stone. There are traces of engravings on the inside of the headstock. The corridor has not been preserved.

The Mamoa do Batateiro is just a few kilometers from the Castro Laboreiro plateau , where there is a megalithic necropolis with about a hundred prehistoric monuments.
