Mámoa of llamas
The Mámoa von Lamas , reconstructed in 1993, is a megalithic complex in Lamas , immediately south of Braga , in Portugal .
The Mámoa de Lamas is a burial mound that was built in the Neolithic Age (around 3000 BC) to the average size of a mamoa. The burial mound covered an anta , of which only three plates were preserved in situ , while the rest are found scattered around the mound. Anta is the Portuguese name for around 5000 megalithic structures or dolmens , which were built during the Neolithic in the west of the Iberian Peninsula by the successors of the cardial or imprint culture . Its discovery brought a wealth of information about the region's past.
The Mamoa is part of the Lamas Museum Nucleus.
