Mélanie Chappuis (born January 13, 1976 in Bonn ) is a Swiss author and writer and was a columnist for Le Temps .

Life

As the daughter of a diplomat, Mélanie Chappuis spent her childhood in Guatemala , Nigeria , Argentina , Bern and New York . She studied literature at the University of Geneva and received the DEA (Diplôme d'études approfondies) from the European Institute. She then worked as a journalist and wrote for various newspapers.

In 2008 she published her first novel Frida with the Swiss publisher Bernard Campiche , the title of which is inspired by the song Ces gens-là by Jacques Brel . In 2010 she published her second novel, Des baisers froids comme la lune , the title of which was derived from the poem Le revenant by Charles Baudelaire . In 2011 she received a writing grant from the Swiss canton of Vaud for her third book project. In 2012 she received the Prix ​​de la relève des Kanton Vaud for her book Maculée conception , which she published in 2013. Until 2014 Mélanie Chappuis wrote the weekly column Dans la tête de … ( German  in the head of… ) at Le Temps .

Since 2011 she has been married to Zep , (real name Philippe Chappuis ), who is known as a comic artist from Titeuf . Mélanie Chappuis brought two children from a previous relationship into marriage to Philippe Chappuis .
