The Möller Group is a Bielefeld group in the plastics processing industry. The group subsidiaries MöllerTech, MöllerFlex and MöllerWerke produce plastic parts for the automotive industry as well as bellows , expansion joints and plastic covers for mechanical engineering. The Möller Group dates back to 1730 and is a member of the Association les Hénokiens , an association of particularly old family businesses from Europe and Japan.

history

Johann Theodor Möller married in an existing copper processing company in 1730 and within 30 years he established and took over several companies, including a Bielefeld copper hammer . The headquarters of the group is still located at the location of the copper hammer. Different generations of the entrepreneurial family redesigned the company and introduced new business areas.

In 1827, Johann Theodor's son Theodor Adolf Möller opened a tannery that existed until the 20th century. Theodor Adolf was already 64 years old at the time, which is why he soon passed the tannery over to his son Friedrich Wilhelm . His sons Karl Möller and Theodor Adolf Möller founded a machine factory against their father's will, which, however, remained financially independent from the rest of the family businesses. While the machine factory had to go bankrupt during the Great Depression in 1930, the tannery was able to continue. Also in the first half of the 20th century the decision was made to process the leather further. Furthermore, the production of V-belts for the automotive industry began. In this way, the product portfolio was expanded to include technical plastics and vehicle interior fittings.
