Association les Hénokiens
The Association les Hénokiens is an organization of traditional family businesses that was founded in 1981 in Bordeaux on the proposal of Gérard Glotin. This includes 47 member companies (as of July 2017) in Europe and Japan . Only companies that have been in the majority ownership of the founding family for at least 200 years and are managed by a descendant of the founder can apply for admission.
The oldest member is the Japanese inn ( ryokan ) Hōshi , the oldest company in the world.
Surname
The name refers to Enoch or Enoch , a patriarch of the Bible, son of Cain and father of Methuselah. After he is said to be 365 years old, he was drawn up into the kingdom of heaven.
founding
The establishment took place on the initiative of Gérard Glotin, the general director ( président-directeur ) of the spirits company Marie Brizard et Roger, who is himself a descendant of the creator of the first aniseed liqueur in 1755.
Membership Criteria
The members must meet the following criteria:
- family business that is at least 200 years old;
- the descendants of the founder still own at least 50% of the shares;
- one of the founder's descendants runs the company or is a member of the supervisory board;
- healthy business record;
- Guarantee from another member of the organization;
- Payment of a membership fee, the amount of which must be proportional to your turnover.
The industry does not matter.

- In 2007 it had 40 members, 15 Italian, 11 French, 4 German, 4 Japanese, 2 Dutch, 2 Swiss, 1 Belgian and 1 Northern Irish.
- In 2008 there were 39 members
- As of July 2017 there were 47 members, the only member from Austria has been AE Köchert since 2014 .
