Mönsterås is a place ( Tatort ) in the Swedish province of Kalmar län and the historic province of Småland .

The place is the main town of the municipality of the same name .

traffic

The formerly narrow-gauge railway Mönsterås – Växjö , on which passenger traffic was carried out until February 1, 1962 , runs through the town . After the line was converted to standard gauge in 1973, it is used for freight traffic to Mönsterås bruk.
