The name Timmernabben is derived from the Swedish or old Swedish words for long wood (timmer) and headland (outdated nabbe ).
history
Wood was shipped in Timmernabben from 1680 to 1900, hence the name. From 1840 the construction of Briggs prevailed. Between 1850 and 1900, 70 ships were built here for the Swedish Navy. Today only monuments and a museum remind of this time.
