particularities Highest point in Denmark

Møllehøj is at 170.86  moh meters the highest natural elevation in Denmark . It is located in the municipality of Skanderborg in East Jutland and is 51 cm higher than Ejer Bavnehøj, 200 meters to the east .

From 1838 to 1917 there was a windmill on Møllehøj, the highest point is now marked by its millstone . Today there is a farm here. The survey did not become generally known until 2005, when new, even more precise measuring methods determined the exact height. In addition, the fact was taken into account that the embankments created by people on the summit and mountain flanks of Yding Skovhøj - which were identified as barrows from the Bronze Age - cannot be taken into account.

In the official maps and Danish text and school books, the highest point in the country is referred to as Mollehøj-Ejer Bavnehøj .
