Müfit Erkasap (born June 11, 1957 in Şanlıurfa ) is a former Turkish football player and coach.

Athletic career

Erkasap started his career in 1974 with Galatasaray Istanbul . In his first two years with the yellow-reds , he came to seven league games. At the end of the 1975/76 season he was in the final of the Turkish Cup and won the final with his teammates against Trabzonspor . The following seasons Erkasap belonged to the regular team.

Erkasap won his second and last cup in Başbakanlık Kupası . In the final, Galatasaray met as runner-up in the 1978/79 season on the cup finalists Altay İzmir . Galatasaray won 1-0 and Fatih Terim scored the winning goal with a penalty . Erkasap ended his career in the summer of 1983.

Coaching career

Müfit Erkasap's first and only experience as head coach was at Galatasaray Istanbul towards the end of the 1994/95 season. He succeeded Reinhard Saftig . In nine league games, Erkasap won five games with his team, played three draws and lost one encounter. The season ended in 3rd place in the table.

At the end of the season he won the Başbakanlık Kupası as a coach. From 1996 to 2004, Erkasap was Fatih Terim's assistant coach.
