Mill Stone Park
The Mühlen-Stein-Park (also called Mühlenstein-Park ) is a park in Wolgast in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
Location and history
The comparatively small park is located in the east of the city near the federal highway 111 . It is bordered in the north by residential buildings along Pestalozzistraße, in the east and south by Dr.-Theodor-Neubauer-Straße and in the west by other residential buildings belonging to a housing association .
In the 1980s, the residents of houses 36 to 45 created a small park on a previously vacant area of the cooperative and planted oak , birch , beech , pine and poplar there .
construction
When inspecting corridors in the Wolgast and Usedom area , experts found a large number of Stone Age artefacts that were initially kept in the city's open-air museum . Among the exhibits that are set up in the park are trough mills , friction plates and millstones from modern times. Together with volcanic rock and sedimentary rock, they were partially arranged in groups of seats. There are also some cult stones on the site .
